In recent years the exploration of the gauge/string duality conjecture led to
many far-reaching discoveries. The results gave rise to a profound interplay
between gauge, string and condensed matter theories. For the first time one is
coming close to finding a complete solution of a quantum gauge theory in four
dimensions, as well as to an understanding of string theory in a non-trivial
background. The recent advances in the gauge/string correspondence became
possible due to the development of a new approach based on exact integrability.
It is likely that the emergent, novel structures will also inspire new avenues
of research into the general field of integrability. The primary goals of the
workshop are to survey the recent advances in AdS/CFT based on the integrability
approach and to create motivation and inspiration for future research.

The workshop is planned as a continuation of a series of annual meetings which
started in 2005 in the framework of the ENS summer institute in Paris (

In 2006 the workshop was held in the Albert Einstein Institute in Potsdam
(

and in 2007 in Saclay (the 12th Claude Itzykson Meeting,
